Trust Leader for Drama
BA in Drama, University of Lincoln / Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Drama, Chester University
“Working collaboratively with people who want the best for our children and drawing on their expertise is what makes the hard days easier and inspires us to improve our practice every day.”
Originally from a small village in Suffolk, I moved to the area to take the role of Teacher of Drama at the then Pingle School in 2010. I quickly moved into the role of Head of Year 7 before becoming Head of Performing Arts and subsequently Trust Leader of Drama.
I had a range of jobs whilst studying, from serving tea in a roadside transport cafe to teaching English as an Additional Language school in an Italian Summer Camp. My life in theatre started as a chorus member in my annual local pantomime and the acting bug took hold. I have continued 'treading the boards' alongside my career by being part of a local Musical Theatre Company where I have the role of a committee member as well as being a performing member of the company. My experience of theatre and the confidence and creative outlet it gave me certainly inspired me to work with young people and to want to give them the same opportunities and happy memories I had of theatre growing up.
