Nazia Odud

Trust Finance Officer

Working in education gives me a rewarding feeling. It is satisfying to see the impact I make on the children‘s learning and wellbeing even though I have no direct contact with them.

I was born and raised in Derby and moved to Burton on Trent when I got married. My childhood ambition in life was to manage my own private day nursery, which would require me to look after the financial aspect as well as working with children. To work towards my goal, I studied Childcare and Business in school and went into college to study Health and Social Care, Psychology, Business and Maths. Having completed my college studies, I worked at Burton and South Derbyshire College in the Finance Department and at Winshill Pre School as an Accounts Assistant. From these experiences, I knew I wanted to focus my career on Finance so I studied for AAT Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.

I then started a family and have three young boys who are full of love and energy! After the birth of my eldest son, I joined The de Ferrers Trust in 2018 as a Finance Assistant; over time, my role has evolved into Trust Finance Officer. I thoroughly enjoy working as part of this great team, who support me in both my career and personal life.
