Nicola Townsend

Trust Leader for Management Information

BA Ed (Hons.) in English, Education and Social Psychology, University of Chester

“Don’t let a fear of failure stop you from trying.”

Following university, I embarked on a tour of the southern hemisphere before joining a corporate sales team within a global games technology company.  I spent more than ten years setting up a team dedicated to defining 'best practice' processes and supporting the 100+ strong sales team before moving in to a corporate account management role.

I joined The de Ferrers Academy in 2011 where I have since completed my NDMA (National Data Manager Award). I have line management responsibility for data, exams and cover within the school and I also support the Trust in a management information capacity, working to establish best practice across all schools and effective Trust-wide analysis and reporting.

I am also a qualified day skipper and can be found sailing around the Greek Islands on holiday – reverse parking a 44-foot yacht is a pretty cool party trick and proves that even with a fear of water (specifically drowning in it) you can achieve great things when you put your mind to it.
