While completing my degree, BA (Hons) Working with Young People and Communities, it offered invaluable practical placements across diverse educational landscapes and I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of nurturing relationships within youth, family, and community settings. Recognising the transformative potential of targeted support and intervention, I embarked on a journey that led me to spearhead safeguarding initiatives in various educational institutions.

My journey began with a pivotal role in a youth centre, where I implemented targeted support interventions, igniting my passion for safeguarding within educational environments and taking a flexible approach to meeting the needs of children. This passion flourished when I assumed leadership in Safeguarding at a Further Education College in Nottingham, gaining profound insights into the intricate dynamics between curriculum, safeguarding, and early intervention, and their significant influence on outcomes.

More recently, I provided support across primary and secondary schools within a large Multi-Academy Trust spanning regions like Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire, NE Lincolnshire, and London. Here, my focus expanded to the development of robust pastoral structures, designed to proactively and meaningfully support young individuals, dismantling barriers to learning and holistic growth.

Beyond this, I serve as a SEND Link Governor, advocating tirelessly for the voices of vulnerable children and passionately championing the rights of Children in Care. I am committed to uplifting marginalised voices and am dedicated to fostering inclusive environments for all.

Now in joining The De Ferrers Trust, I am poised to continue my work as an agent for change and development. With an unwavering dedication to embedding safeguarding strategies reflective of the Trust's values, I am eager to cultivate a culture of unwavering commitment safeguarding and children's welfare. I am looking forward to working closely with the academies, children and families alike.
