Joanne Lowe

Principal of Richard Wakefield C.E. Primary Academy

BSc (Hons.) with Qualified Teacher Status in Primary Education and Mathematics, Edge Hill University

“Teaching and working with children has been a passion of mine from an early age. Working within The de Ferrers Trust allows me to support all children to seize every opportunity available to them, to be proud of everything they achieve and to watch them grow and flourish as they follow their school journey.”

For over two decades, I have been dedicated to a profession which I find thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding. Twelve of those years have been spent as a Vice Principal or within a leadership role.  This year marks the first year of my career in which I am incredibly proud to be the Principal of a wonderful school and community within our Trust.

As a child I attended de Ferrers secondary school, benefiting from the wealth of opportunities and experiences the school offered, building my love of learning and encouraging me to take the steps into teaching.  I am currently studying for my National Professional Qualification in Headship.

Outside of school, I also hold qualifications in teaching dance and I am a qualified British Gymnastics coach – both passions I have harboured since I was young. I continue to assist my local gymnastics club with coaching and supporting as a parent. As well as all of the above, I enjoy running, boot camp and reading.
