Granville Academy joined The de Ferrers Trust in 2017. We are a Multi Academy Trust currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. We consist of 3 Secondary Academies and 4 Primary Academies.

We are passionate about the Arts at Granville, and as such, they form a central part of our broad and balanced curriculum. We aim to instil a love of performance, whilst inspiring self confidence, discipline and respect of the Creative Arts. We believe that studying the Arts enriches student’s lives and provides opportunities for them to develop essential skills, such as creativity, empathy, self-confidence, as well as encouraging them to think about and connect more deeply with the world around them.

The Creative Arts Faculty is staffed by specialist teachers in Music, Art and Drama. We have a Drama Studio, green room, bespoke music room, art room and school stage on which we host musical and theatrical productions.

The Candidate

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated teacher of Performing Arts, to include Drama and Music.  We seek an outstanding practitioner with an infectious passion for their subject and specialist subject knowledge to join us at Granville Academy. You will be part of a wider Creative Team and will receive excellent support and opportunities for development within the Academy and across the Trust.

You must be confident in the delivery of both areas at KS3 and a specialism at KS4.  You must have the ambition and dedication to continue to support the development of the curriculum and wider curriculum in line with current practice and research in effective teaching. You will be able to support the promotion of excellent standards of student learning, achievement, progress, attainment and behaviour through working effectively and collaboratively. You will be passionate about your specialist subject, recognise the importance and impact that this area of the curriculum has on a students wider life, on their ability to be responsible, moral global citizens; ready to take their place in a tolerant and diverse world, confident and well informed to articulate and engage in debate and community life. Your input will be invaluable and must aim to inspire students within and beyond your specialism.
