The de Ferrers Academy is a part of The de Ferrers Trust. We are a Multi Academy Trust currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. We consist of 3 Secondary Academies and 4 Primary Academies.
Following on from 10 years as a specialist Technology College, de Ferrers became an Academy in January 2011. It has grown into a large, split-site, co-educational institution catering for the full range of students from ages 11-18. In 2015 de Ferrers became the first school of The de Ferrers Trust (a Multi Academy Trust).
Excellent funding has allowed the Academy to enhance resources and equipment and widely promote the use of new technologies. There are digital projectors and flat screen TVs in all curriculum areas with over 500 computers and laptops across all sites.
From October 2012, the Academy became the first school in Staffordshire to provide all sixth form students with access to a personal 1:1 iPad for use in lessons and at home. Currently, all students have their own iPad, as well as all teaching staff and most support staff.

The de Ferrers Academy has an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the DT Department.
This post offers a varied and rewarding role within the Academy, working under the guidance of senior staff providing technical support/expertise to the DT Faculty. Duties will include:
- Preparation of materials as directed, distribution of apparatus and clearing away equipment.
- Assisting staff in practical lessons, preparation of teaching aids, maintaining apparatus.
- To deputise for the Lead DT Technician.
- To deputise as Health & Safety representative for the DT Faculty and attend Health & Safety meetings as required.
- To assist with Line Management of DT Technicians.
Would be suitable for someone with an interest in Design and Technology, relevant training will be provided.
