Trust Leader for Primary PE and Sport Premium

BEd (Hons.) in Primary Education with ICT, University of Derby

“Teaching someone something new and knowing that this could impact their future lives, makes everything worthwhile. Seeing that 'lightbulb' moment and knowing you make a difference to someone every day is the most important thing of all.”

I am a Year 5 teacher at Eton Park Junior. As well as this, I am the Trust Leader for Primary PE and Sport Premium funding and the PE Leader for Eton Park and Lansdowne Academies, a role I enjoy hugely.

Originally from the Fens in Cambridgeshire, I studied my Bachelor of Education at the University of Derby before meeting my now husband (whilst on a placement) and I stayed in the area. I have worked at Eton Park for over a decade now and still love coming to work every day. I enjoy providing opportunities to our children that they may not have had otherwise and it is somewhere I feel I can really make a difference.

The PE side of the role is something that started with a small interest and has grown and grown. There is no better feeling than taking a child to a tournament and seeing them enjoy taking part in or learning a new sport and it's something I hope we can continue as we move forward, maybe finding the next Olympian one day!
