Trust Leader for Teaching and Learning CPD

BSc (Hons.) Sport and Exercise Sciences, University of Gloucestershire / Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Physical Education, Loughborough University / MA in Education, Derby University

“Working as a Trust Leader allows me to have a widespread positive influence on the quality of teaching. This means students across the Trust receive a high-quality education, so that they know a little more and are a little better each day.”

Throughout my education at both school and university I had a passion for learning and for sport. The latter led me to develop a huge amount of skills that I apply to my work and attempt to pass on to students. The key skills motivation, resilience, team work, and communication stand out as those that I believe are the keys to success in many areas of life including learning.

Following university, my career as a teacher started in a Derby City school for eight years, before moving to The de Ferrers Academy in 2012 as Director of Learning for PE. I am currently Vice Principal and Trust Leader responsible for Teaching and Learning and CPD. This role allows me to directly influence the development of teaching practice across the Trust secondary academies. This in turn directly impacts the learning experiences of the students.
