“There is a great team ethos working at The de Ferrers Trust and I always feel supported by colleagues and leaders. Working at The de Ferrers Trust has given me lots of opportunities to progress.”

I am Director of Learning at The de Ferrers Academy and also Trust Leader for Design and Technology. I had a keen interest in Design from an early age. I remember fondly being the only girl in my year group at school to take Resistant Materials that year. I followed the path of Design through College and University which led me into a career in Textile Design.

I worked for a company in Leicester creating ladies and children’s print design for the high street where my work could be seen in places such as Topshop, New Look and Karen Millen to name but a few. After working in industry for five years, I realised I wanted a career that allowed me to be more hands on with the opportunities to promote the subject I am passionate about. After some consideration, I took a leap of faith into teaching and have never looked back.

Outside of work I love walking, horse riding, visiting new places and going on adventures with my family!
