Trust Leader for Physical Education

“I may not be there yet, but I am closer than I was yesterday.”

From an early age, sport has been very important to me.  As a youngster, I was privileged to play competitive cricket and football to a high level which in turn shaped my character and made me the person I am today.  Sport helped me develop better ways to cope with the highs and lows of life. When playing sport, I learnt how to lose. Experiencing defeat takes maturity and practice. Losing taught me to bounce back from disappointment, cope with unpleasant experiences and channel negative feelings in a positive way which ultimately built my resilience and drive to succeed.

Appointed as a PE teacher at The Pingle Academy in 2006, I have since progressed to Faculty leader and now I am honoured to be our Trust Leader for PE.  PE and Sport are so important to me; I am passionate about creating an environment that our children can thrive in and I am very proud of the progress and achievements we have made across our Trust so far.  We will continue to evolve, improve and through collaboration allow students the chance to succeed in sport.
