Trust Leader for Art and Design
BA (Hons.) in Textile Design, Loughborough University / Postgraduate Certificate in Education, Secondary Art and Design, Birmingham University
"I feel privileged to be working with a team of Artists who share my passion for our subject and aspire to inspire our students to be the best they can be.”
I first started teaching at Langley School in Solihull in 1997 and then worked for 13 years at Plantsbrook Academy in Sutton Coldfield as an Art Teacher and Community Curriculum Co-Ordinator for Creative Arts. I then spent a short time at Chase Terrace Technology College in Burntwood, where I previously attended as a student, before joining The de Ferrers Academy as Head of Art and Key Stage 4 Leader of Creative Arts in 2013.
I firmly believe that all the children in our care should have access to a broad range of high-quality art provision that enriches their experiences and encourages them to achieve their full potential in Art, regardless of their ability or background.
I am passionate about the Arts and continue to practice as a textiles artist, spinning my own alpaca fleece when I am not busy running my own smallholding. I am also a keen collector of contemporary ceramics.
