The Pingle Academy is a part of The de Ferrers Trust. We are a Multi Academy Trust currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. We consist of 3 Secondary Academies and 4 Primary Academies.

The Pingle Academy is a co-educational, comprehensive, secondary school for students aged 11-18 years.  It is situated on a large secure site at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. We benefit from a wide range of specialist facilities, including a floodlit astro-turf area, Learning Support Base, Autism Resource Centre and a purpose built Sixth Form Centre.

Faculty Information

The MFL Faculty is made up of 5 members of staff all teaching both French and Spanish. We teach French and Spanish up to, and beyond, KS4. Our students’ study one language from Year 7 and then have the option to continue their studies after KS3.

Year on year, our GCSE classes are growing in size and feedback from the students show that they enjoy language learning at The Pingle Academy. We make use of a wide range of teaching strategies in MFL lessons including sentence builders accompanied with challenging and engaging activities to underpin the students’ learning. This is further supported by the Academy’s investment in CPD. 

The Candidate

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated MFL Teacher with an infectious passion for the subject, to join us at The Pingle Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for you to create innovative and exciting learning opportunities for our students.

You must be able to teach both French and Spanish. You will have the ambition and dedication to continue to develop the curriculum in line with current practice and research in effective teaching. 

You will be able to support in the promotion of excellent standards of student learning, achievement, progress, attainment and behaviour through working effectively and collaboratively. You will be passionate about your specialist subject and seek to positively impact your field and the Academy.
