Granville Academy is a mainstream Academy. Our guiding principle is one of inclusion and our aim is to identify possible barriers to learning for all students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).
The SEND team consists of an Assistant Principal - SENCo, Assistant SENCo, and a team of Academic Mentors, all of whom are experienced and qualified. Each Academic Mentor is linked to individual students as a student champion. The teachers at Granville Academy are trained to support students with SEND. Lessons are personalised to the student’s strengths and areas for development and differentiating any work accordingly. All SEND students carry a Passport of reasonable adjustments and teachers are aware of these needs.
